Mumble VOIP Server
This guide is intended to get started with Mumble.
As stated in Guild Ranks & Raider Requirements, raiders are required to be on Mumble and in the correct channel during raids.
Installing Mumble
- Download Mumble from the official site.
- Follow installation instructions
Using Mumble
Connecting to the DMZ server
- DMZ-Gaming.com :: Mumble server
- 85.236.100.59
- 10812
- Set this to be your main character within the guild or your forum username.
Navigating channels
Move between different channels by double clicking the channel you want to move to.
Channel passwords
If you are unable to join a specific channel it may be because you need a password. These are not written anywhere on the website so you need to speak to a member and ask for it.
Temporary channels
Temporary sub channels can be created at any time, when they become empty they will be automatically removed.
Registering your user name
Once you have connected to the DMZ-gaming server with your proper username, you can register that name on the server. This will mean two things:
- Only you can use that name on the DMZ-Gaming server.
- You can only use that name on the DMZ-Gaming server.
Register by right clicking on your name and selecting 'Register' from the drop-down menu.
User registration is only currently recommended for members but as many server permissions are tied to a registered name it may become mandatory in the future.

In-game overlay settings
http://mmo-mumble.com/help/Overlay
- On the top menu, go to: Configure > Settings.
- In settings ensure the Advanced box is checked.
- Select Overlay on the left-hand menu.
- In the Options section of the Overlay menu, check the Enable Overlay and Always Show Self boxes.
- Select Show Only Talking from the drop down menu between Enable Overlay and Always Show Self.
- Press "Apply" and look on WoW for the Overlay. If the overlay is not showing, please refer to the note at the bottom of this guide. When the Overlay is showing, it should be in the top right of your WoW window, near your minimap and buffs.
- The slider bars in the Position section relate to where your Overlay will be shown on your UI. It is suggested that you select the Grow Down option, as the other three options seem to overwrite each other. It may take you a while playing with the horizontal and vertical slider bars, to correctly position the Overlay where you want it, so just play with it until you are happy. Also to test your new position, you will need to press the "Apply" button.
- Select any font you wish to use for your Overlay and set the height. Some fonts may require a larger height than others, to be readable.
- Select a visible color for Color for users and Color for talking users. Try to chose something that will not clash with the colors in game.
- Apply your new settings and you are ready to go.
Note: If you play in windowed mode, you may need to go into fullscreen mode to make the Overlay show, after this, you can return to windowed mode
