Beast Mastery in 7.2

Since last week's patch there has been a fair bit of experimenting going on and it looks like there is a new King of BM builds. And it revolves around the new Thunderslash (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=238087) trait.

What does Thunderslash do? Basically whenever you cast your Aspect of the Wild cooldown, it causes your pet to deal damage to targets in 8 yards in front of them, very similar to how Beast Cleave currently works.
Given that Aspect is on a 2 minute cooldown and is only up for 13 seconds, this doesn't seem hugely significant. A minor buff at best.

Until you combine this trait with the Call of the Wild legendary bracers (http://www.wowhead.com/item=137101) and the Convergeance of Fates trinket (http://www.wowhead.com/item=140806/conv … p;spec=253) which drops from Elisande. These two items in combination reduce the cooldown of Aspect of the Wild to roughly 40 seconds. Suddenly that extra Thunderslash damage looks really nice.

There are a couple of other tricks to getting the most out of it:
Dire Frenzy is now the best talent over Stomp for AoE and single target. It causes your pet to gain attack speed and instantly attack several times, causing several immediate Thunderslash hits. Also works nicely with Beast Cleave.

The damage scales with Bestial Wrath, therefore you should always combo Aspect + BW. For this reason, Bestial Fury is now the best talent over blink strikes for all situations.

When combining with other legendaries, I recommend The Mantle of Command shoulders, or Roar of the Seven Lions belt, both of these are a significant DPS increase and augment this build nicely. If you don't have those I'd recommend the Qa'Pla boots for single target or the Kil'Jaeden trinket for AoE.

For your second trinket slot you should run with Bloodthirsty Instinct from Ursoc, if not using the legendary trinket.

Enjoy before it gets nerfed!

Edit: slightly more coherent now that I'm awake and not spluttering at the scale of nerfs.

As of wednesday this build, along with the call of the wild legendary, is having its effectivenesd reduced by roughly 50% - it is, however, still worth taking over the ring or the trinket, or any non-dps legendary.

Its worth noting that when ToS is released the legendary shoulders are also being nerfed.

With the changes to the shoulders and the way Call of the Wild works, the best combination for ToS is likely to be the Belt + Bracers for AoE and Belt + boots for single target, along with the Dire Frenzy and Blink Strikes talents.
